Food and Budget Plans Research

*Warning:  Some will find this very boring, but I've posted it for those who might be interested and as a resource for anyone considering cost/weight efficient diet plans of any sort.

In order to find a budget that is both cost efficient and weight efficient without sacrificing too much nutritional value, I did a bit of research.  First I researched average prices for foods I expected to be buying.  This will allow me to know when certain foods are overpriced; allowing to wait for better deals and it also has allowed  me estimate weekly costs of three different diet plans.  In order to find my ideal diet for this trips and potential future trips, I created three diets I thought were reasonable then analyzed them by looking at Calories per dollar, Calories per oz. as well as a variety of nutritional qualities. The three hypothetical plans are structured as follows:

Diet A: Sacrifices weight and cost in the name of better nutrition
Diet C: Sacrifices health in the name of lower costs and lowers weight.
Diet B: Somewhere in between

Here is the majority of my research (click to enlarge):

If you took a look at some of the charts you realize that Diet A is much healthier than the other two diets but that it is also much heavier and more costly.  I aim to go with a plan that shoots somewhere in between Diet C and Diet A.  Hopefully something similar to Diet B but with a bit more fresh produce when I can find it at a good price.  I will also be taking a multivitamin and 5 grams of BCAA's which will hopefully help to smooth out nutritional gaps I might have while cycling.

Below I have posted a list of the new cycling gear I had to purchase for the trek and the approximate cost.  Since I had most of my traditional camping gear I needed I didn't have to purchase much outside of this list.

Hey Guys,
Here's is my skeleton schedule.  Not a plan per se, just something to give readers and myself an idea of how long I expect this thing to take me.
