Been a while. Stuart and I are still cycling together. We're in Silverthorne, CO which is a ski resort area. Just passed over Hoosier Pass yesterday which is the highest point on the route at about 11,500 ft. We weren't planning a day off here but there was a winter weather warning from 6pm last night til 6pm tonight and when we woke up today it was snowing. We figured it would be smart to wait for the weather to improve. We're staying with another warmshower's host tonight so that'll be good.
Was able to get updated to day 17. It's tough to do a ton with the limited computer time allowd by libraries. When I get home it will be much easier to update the posts, upload pictures, maps and all that fun stuff.
Hope all is going well back home. Gotta go. Take care.

Day 17
Feels great to be back on the road. I like to believe that I am not easily influenced by external stimuli but its amazing how the atmosphere of different places can effect your mood and mental state. As long as I feel strong physically I don;t think I'll be taking another zero anytime soon. I like to being on the road.
Big meals effect me more than in the past. I really went to town on that AYCE salad bar the other night and even though I fasted for over 18 hours I still feel a bit of abdominal/organ inflamation and discomfort. If I take it easy I should be fine. Just feels good to be on the road again.
Started and a personal goal I'm calling the "2 day challenge" to spend 0 dollars so I can eat a good chunk of the food I'm carrying.
95 miles to Farmington with Stuart Matt, and Chris. Awesome hostel here. Hreat times. First time on a mattress for the trip! Sounds like Matt is gonna try to stick with the pace. Chris I'm not sure but I hope he keeps with us. We have a great group here.
Expenses: $9.78 - Hostel donation.
Can I turn it into a 3-day $0 for food challenge?

Day 16
Zero in Carbondale. Relaxing with Stuart, Chris and Matt. Going to stay at this guys house tonight from warmshowers.org. Great website. It allows cyxlists to get a hold of other cyclists and stay at their places for a night. Someone stole my bike short? Why? That's just nasty. Life goes on. Off to hang out in town...
Expenses: $6- food

Day 15
Marion to Carbondale. 99 miles. 1,150 miles in. Bikes with Chris and Matt almost all day. Feeling like I'm a bit more physically adjusted. Taking a zero tomorrow with these guys. Went out for dinner. All you can eat salad bar for $8. I don't know if the made any money off me. Sleep outside of a firestation.
Expenses: $13.41- food

Day 14
90 miles Whitesville to Marion. Met Chris today. Cool dude. Bike mechanic from Philly riding the Trans Am as well. He's rocking a city bike and still dominating. At a Marion church which is awesome. Showers, couches, fridges, food... It's balling and we're trying to hit up some warmshowers.org host's for tomorrow. Can we couchsurf to Oregon? lol We will see.
Expenses: $8.36- food

Day 13
Terrain was a little rougher today but Stuart and I still pushed 102 miles. 96 trail miles but yet another missed turn (completely our fault) added 6 miles or so. Might try to get to Illinois tomorrow. The company is great and in theory two heads should be better than one but for me this is no true when it comes to navigation. Spaghetti for dinner tonight!
Expenses: $17.33 -food

Day 12
Up at 6:01. Eyes are really swollen; don't think I can wear contacts today. Also, I'm pretty sure some Kentucky cows are mating ; they're going nuts.
Went whole day without contactsand it wasfine. Chased by about 20 dogs in first 10 miles (more than 50% of the driveways we passed had dogs waiting). Terrain still has a lot of ups and downs but they are shorter and gentler. Stuart and I pushed 105 miles today. A challenge but fulfilling as well. We added on a bit from a few more missed turns this morning . May have been with more attentiveness but still more due to poor signage this time. Boils on my arms; thought it was poison ivy at first but its from the sun. I'm pretty milato at this point. At Harrodstown tonight. Lady working the mini-mart in town happened to be the principal of the town school and is super nice. She gave us free food and ice and let us camp at the school pavillion. Hungry. Dinner. Oh also, 71 miles in under 6 hours with breaks included, not bad.
Expenses: $2.60-food
